Military Instructor (General)

Military Instructor positions offer opportunities across the nation to provide an assortment of military training to the Department of Defense. Our Military Education Program offers a wide range of opportunities in Military Technical Training, Military Combat Operations Training, Career Technical Training and Certification, Leadership and Management Development and Professional Skills Development. These positions are as-needed and applicants should live within commuting distance from the designated place of duty.

NOTE: The San Diego Community College District, Military Education Department accepts applications for Military Instructor positions in support of government contracts on a continuous basis. However, it does not necessarily imply there are immediate openings. If you meet the required minimum qualifications, your application will be included in the Military Instructor pool for possible assignments. Hiring departments utilize the pool when there is a need and will contact you directly should you possess the qualifications they are seeking. Applications are purged approximately one year from submittal, at which time you will receive an automated e-mail notice to re-apply if you wish to remain in the pool.

Classroom Safety Observer

San Diego City College has an instructor service contract at Corry Station, Pensacola, Florida. Civilian contract instructors will possibly be needed for the following:

Applicants shall have a high school diploma or equivalent and be able to pass a background check.  Each individual shall have relevant experience with assisting instruction in a class-room environment.  Each individual shall have a current American Red Cross CPR certification or equivalent.  Applicant is recommended to have military base access.

Yeoman (YN), Personnel Specialist (PS) and Logistics Specialist (LS) “A” schools”

San Diego City College has an instructor service contract at Naval Technical Training Center (NTTC) Meridian, Mississippi. Civilian contract instructors will possibly be needed at NTTC Meridian for the following Navy "A" schools:

Personnel Specialist (PS) Yeoman (YN)

Applicants shall have a high school diploma or equivalent. Each individual shall have at least three years of experience as a full-time instructor teaching a subject matter closely comparable to the occupational specialty. In addition, applicants shall have successfully performed in an equivalent or directly related specialty for six years. The three-year and six-year requirements may run concurrently.

Certification as a Navy Journeyman Instructor, Master Training Specialist or equivalent preferred.

Possess virtual classroom/seat and online facilitation experience.
