"My parents are from the Philippines but settled in the U.S. because of my father’s
assignment in the Navy. With their encouragement, I have been successful
in my studies, earning a GPA of 4.0. I will need a good job so that I can
provide for my parents when they are older. I’ve been accepted at SDSU
where I intend to earn a B.A. in nursing and then pursue an M.A. Education
is very important to me, because what I learn will determine not only what
I do today, but where I stand tomorrow."
