San Diego Community College District

The rich culture and history of Latinas/os will be celebrated at San Diego’s four community colleges - City, Mesa, Miramar and College of Continuing Education - as they mark Hispanic Heritage Month with a variety of music, exhibitions, discussions and more.

Hispanic Heritage Month begins September 15 to coincide with the independence dates of five Latin America countries and the independence of Mexico on Sept. 16. Originally a weeklong event, it now runs until October 16.

All Hispanic Heritage Month events are free and open to the public unless otherwise noted.
