Chancellor search process - Progress Report No. 3

November 30, 2020 | Maria Nieto Senour, Ph.D. - President, Board of Trustees

Dear Colleagues:

This is a brief update to let you know that the search process to identify the next Chancellor of the San Diego Community College District (SDCCD) is on schedule. The recruitment of candidates is going well and the position is attracting a strong and diverse pool of candidates from throughout the state, region, and nation. In the coming weeks, the Chancellor Search Committee will convene to select the confidential semifinalist candidates and engage in first-round confidential interviews.

We anticipate the final candidates visiting the SDCCD the week of February 22, 2021 to participate in public forums. Specific forum dates, locations and/or virtual access information, will be released once finalized in early February 2021. Your participation and input from the finalist forums is important.  All forum participants will have the opportunity to provide feedback through an online survey. This feedback will be reviewed by the Board of Trustees as part of the deliberation process.

The Board of Trustees is committed to conducting an equitable, inclusive, and transparent national search process. If you have any questions or suggestions, please feel free to reach out to our ACCT Search Consultants: Debbie DiThomas, Ed.D., ACCT Search Consultant, ddithomas5@gmail.com or 951-961-6533 (mobile); or Julie Golder, J.D., Vice President of Search Services, jgolder@acct.org or 202-384-5816 (mobile).
