Food banks around San Diego County

July 20, 2020 | San Diego Community College District

Due to the closure of all campuses throughout the San Diego Community College District, our food pantries are no longer available to our students. There are other food bank options for members of the SDCCD community should they be in need of additional support.

The San Diego Food Bank is continuing operations and still welcomes volunteers. The Neighborhood Food Distribution Program distributes fresh produce and nonperishable food items at distribution sites every month throughout San Diego County. The majority of the food distributed at these sites is fresh produce – fresh fruits and vegetables. Anyone can receive food at a Neighborhood Distribution Program site. Identification cards are not required. There are no income restrictions for this program. Neighborhood Food Distribution Sites.
Donations are also welcome.

Feeding San Diego provides food at multiple distribution centers around San Diego County. Additional community resources are available by calling 2-1-1. Public support helps ensure that Feeding San Diego can continue to meet the ongoing and evolving needs of the community during the coronavirus outbreak. Every $1 donated helps provide 4 meals.

While Feeding San Diego has suspended volunteering opportunities, many community partners are still in need of volunteers. Register to volunteer by filling out this form and Feeding San Diego will get in touch with you with more information if there are agencies in need.
