Licensing and testing fees free for hundreds of healthcare grads
An influx of generous donations from supporters such as the nonprofit Prebys Foundation and philanthropist Roger Frey is fueling the rapid expansion of a San Diego Community College District program that covers costly testing and licensing fees for students embarking on careers in healthcare. The Ready2Work program reimburses healthcare students at San Diego City, Mesa, Miramar, and College of Continuing Education needing help paying for certification expenses that can exceed $1,000.
