Learn the Language Take advantage of many online resources, workshops, and toolkits to expand your disability vocabulary and ability to confidently and respectfully discuss disability in both public and confidential spaces. (Find additional resources in final pages of this toolkit.)
Train the Team Extend and/or incentivize similar educational resources to your staff as professional development opportunities.
Strengthen Spaces and Systems
  • Ensure accessible job listings and training materials and be sure to include affirming statements about your company's commitment to disability inclusion.
  • From the recruiting process through employment, be sure to offer confidential channels for accommodation requests.
  • Partner with disability-focused organizations and academic institutions for inclusive recruiting and internships.
  • Audit and enhance website and social media accessibility, including alt text and color contrast.
  • Commit to ADA-compliant physical workspaces, communicating openly about progress and temporary accommodations.
