Prior Week’s Key Accomplishments:
City College:
- “A” Building Expansion: Executive presentation preparation meetings and presentation follow-up with Vice Chancellor Peterson and the Design-Build Entity (DBE) held Feb. 4.
- Saville Theatre Replacement: Executive presentation preparation meeting held Feb. 4.
- Affordable Student Housing: Safety-Training-Education-Access-Meals (STEAM) programming meeting with The Michaels Organization held Feb. 2.
- Arts & Humanities (Building AH) Overhead Garage Door Replacement: Final pre-bid job walk held Feb. 6.
- Student Affairs (Building M) Backflow Water Valve Replacement: Installed Feb. 7.
Mesa College:
- Performing Arts Center / Administration & Parking Structure: The DBE, district design team, and Program Management Organization (PMO) held a utilities coordination meeting with facilities and IT Feb. 3 and met with campus leadership Feb. 5 to review programming documents and outline next steps with campus stakeholders.
- Athletics Complex: The DBE, campus stakeholders, and PMO hosted first student engagement workshop Feb. 4 with approximately 150 student-athletes. The DBE, campus stakeholders, the district design team, and PMO held the rescheduled first focus group meeting Feb. 6.
- Design Center Improvements: Campus design faculty continued Design Development (DD) review, focusing on courtyard landscape options while PMO coordinated with Kitchell Estimating on the 100% DD cost estimate.
- Lighting Inverters Replacement: Final pre-bid job walk for replacements at seven buildings (MT, BT, Q-100, Q-200, S, Stadium East, SB) was held Feb. 6.
- Mesa Commons Roof Gutter: Work completed Feb. 6.
Miramar College:
- Montgomery Field Aviation Instructional Center: The project team met to review the approach for onboarding design-assist subcontractors Jan. 29.
- Performing Arts Center & English/Gallery Project: The district issued a Notice to Proceed (NTP) for the DBE to proceed with aspects of the schematic design phase that do not require stakeholder involvement.
- Lighting Inverters Replacement: A final pre-bid job walk for replacements at nine buildings (J, P-1, K-2, G-4, H, N, S-6, G-3, C-2) was held Feb. 6.
- Police Academy (Public Safety Building A2, “MAT” Room) HVAC Replacement: A final pre-bid job walk was held Feb. 6.
College of Continuing Education:
- Educational Cultural Complex (ECC) Community Room: Design development “page turn,” in which the team reviewed draft documents page by page to confirm scope with District Facilities, was held Feb. 6.
Other District Locations:
- District Services Center Roof Repair (South Portion): Construction began Feb. 4.
Coming Week Look-Ahead:
City College:
- “A” Building Expansion: Presentation to City College leadership is scheduled for Feb. 10.
- Saville Theatre Replacement: Presentation to City College leadership is scheduled for Feb. 11.
Mesa College:
- Performing Arts Center / Administration & Parking Structure: The district design team and PMO will continue reviewing programming documents, while DBE, PMO, campus leadership and stakeholders continue refining scope and budget documentation for the Feb. 27 Executive Committee presentation.
- Athletics Complex: The DBE, campus stakeholders, district design team, and PMO will hold a fourth physical planning meeting Feb. 10, and a second focus group meeting on Feb. 13. The DBE, campus stakeholders, and PMO will host a second student engagement workshop on Feb. 12.
Miramar College:
- Performing Arts Center & English/Gallery Project: The district and Miramar team will review the DBE’s revised program document to confirm it addresses district and campus comments.
- Roofing Repairs (M, H, S5, T1): Roof repair design will proceed for Buildings M, H, and T1 (excluding S5). The 60% design submittal is due Feb. 13. Building S5 will be addressed in Phase II.
College of Continuing Education:
- CE Mesa Campus: Design kick-off meeting Feb. 11.

Key Items of Interest:
- Measure HH Outreach Event: On Thursday, Feb. 19 at 7:30 a.m., the Measure HH team will host an informational outreach and networking event at City College focused on near-term capital renovation and repair work planned across district campuses in the coming months. Registration is available online.

- Mid-City Renovation: Program option selection is expected by Feb. 16 to finalize the program and proceed with design.
- Mid-City Expansion: New campus name needed by Feb. 27 for inclusion in the Request for Qualifications/Proposal.
