City College:

  1. “A” Building Expansion: A program options discussion with the Design-Build Entity (DBE) was held Feb. 20.
  1. Outdoor Athletics Expansion & Upgrades: Project graphics and branding meeting held Feb. 20.
  1. Fire Hydrant Testing Coordination: Program Management Organization (PMO) met with the City of San Diego Development Services Department Feb. 18 to coordinate required testing for “A” Building Expansion, Saville Theatre Replacement and Outdoor Athletics projects.
  1. Arts and Humanities Building (AH) Overhead Garage Door Replacement: Bid proposals received Feb. 17.

 

Mesa College:

  1. Performing Arts Center / Administration & Parking Structure: Campus leadership and PMO submitted additional funding request form Feb. 20.
  1. Athletics Complex: The final programming deliverables were submitted Feb. 20.
  1. Design Center Improvements: Additional service proposals for expanded scope were under review, and 50% Construction Documents (CDs) were received and reviewed.
  1. Lighting Inverters Replacement: Bid proposals received Feb. 17.

 

Miramar College:

  1. Montgomery Field Aviation Instructional Center: Swing space meeting held Feb. 18 to identify temporary relocation site during construction.
  1. Lighting Inverters Replacement: Bid proposals received Feb. 17.
  1. Police Academy A2 MAT Room HVAC Replacement: Bid proposals received Feb. 17.
  1. A2 Police Deck Landing Pedestrian Bridge: Design fee proposal submitted Feb. 20.
  1. Building C-3 Advanced Transportation Technology Garage Door Repair: Vortex material procurement completed Feb. 16.

  1. Educational Cultural Complex (ECC) Theatre Renovation: Access control meeting held Feb. 17.
  1. ECC Building Trades Training Center: Swing space walk with dean and vice presidents held Feb. 19.

Key Items of Interest:

  1. Programming Close-out Celebrations: The Measure HH design-build teams are working on scheduling programming celebrations for all campuses to acknowledge all people who contributed ideas for the major design build projects. Dates for these meetings are currently being finalized.
  1. Finance and Business Services Coordination: Recent meetings were held with Accounts Payable and Special Funds staff to align on new team structure and updated software systems.
  1. Change Order Process: Improvements are being implemented to streamline the change order process.
  1. Cost Reporting Enhancements: A new report is being developed to track standard cost projections alongside risk-adjusted projections to improve financial visibility and forecasting.
  1. Small Business Outreach: Nearly 80 people attended the district’s outreach and networking event at San Diego City College on Feb. 19 focused on upcoming capital repair renovation and repair opportunities.
