Prior Week’s Key Accomplishments:
City College:
- Saville Theatre Replacement: The final program was presented to the City College Council on Mar. 10.
- Harry West Gym HVAC: A swing-space planning walkthrough was held with the athletics dean and Enhanced Furniture, Fixtures, and Equipment (FF&E) project manager on Mar. 11.
- Overhead Garage Door Replacement at Arts & Humanities (Building AH): The project was presented at the Mar. 12 board meeting, and the contract was awarded to Creative Builds, LLC.
Mesa College:
- Performing Arts Center / Administration & Parking: The district scheduled a fifth programming meeting with the Design-Build Entity (DBE) to finalize and review the revised programming deliverable. The district and DBE also finalized the geotechnical investigation scope and logistics.
- Athletics Complex: The district reviewed the programming phase cost estimate and submitted the proposed geotechnical investigation scope and requirements document to Kleinfelder (geotechnical consultant) for proposal on Mar. 10. The district also participated in a final programming document package page-turn review on Mar. 12.
- Design Center Improvements: The district continued revising and reducing additional design service proposals for additional scope and continued reviewing the 50% construction drawings (CDs).
- Lighting Inverters Replacement at Math & Science (MS), Business & Technology (BT), Police Offices (Q100 & Q200), Allied Health Education (S), Social & Behavioral Sciences (SB), and Stadium East Buildings: The project was presented at the Mar. 12 board meeting, and the contract was awarded to Ready Electric.
Miramar College:
- Montgomery Field Aviation Instructional Center: The district received the schematic design submittal from the DBE on Mar. 10.
- Roofing Repairs – Business & Math (M), Arts & Humanities (H), and College Police (T1) Buildings: The 90% Construction Documents (CD) were received Mar. 13.
- Lighting Inverters Replacement at Gym (J), Aquatic Center (P-1), Student Resource Center (K-2), Parking Garage (G-3 & G4), Arts & Humanities (H), Administration (N), Science (S-6), and Advanced Transportation (C-2) Buildings: The project was presented at the Mar. 12 board meeting, and the contract was awarded to Ready Electric.
- HVAC Replacement at Police Academy (A2 Mat Room) Building: The project was presented at the Mar. 12 board meeting, and the contract was awarded to Able Heating and AC.
College of Continuing Education:
- Mid-City Expansion: The Request for Proposals (RFP) for the new site on El Cajon Blvd. was released on Mar. 10.
- CE Mesa Building Envelope: A design stakeholder meeting was held on Mar. 11.
- Educational Cultural Complex (ECC) Theatre Renovation: An outdoor furniture discussion was held on Mar. 12.

City College:
- Saville Theatre Replacement: A second schematic design focus group meeting is scheduled for Mar. 20.
Mesa College:
- Performing Arts Center / Administration & Parking Structure: The district will continue providing feedback to the DBE on the programming and facilities Request for Information (RFI) log and continue developing the site investigation plan for spring break, including potholing and utility/infrastructure validation.
- Athletics Complex: The district will continue providing feedback to the DBE on the programming and facilities RFI log and schedule a meeting with the geotechnical consultant and DBE to review scope and prepare a proposal.
Miramar College:
- Montgomery Field Aviation Instructional Center: The district will review the schematic design submittal.
College of Continuing Education:
- West City Expansion: A program estimate review meeting with the DBE is scheduled for Mar. 16.
- Mid-City Expansion: An RFP information session for the new site on El Cajon Blvd. is scheduled for Mar. 19.
- Cesar Chavez Dual Swing Door Operator: Door material is scheduled to arrive next week to continue installation with Assa Abloy.
- West City Evacuation Chair: The chair has been ordered and is expected to be delivered the week of Mar. 16, with installation projected for late March.

Key Items of Interest:
- Quarterly Citizens Bond Oversight Committee (CBOC): A meeting was held on Mar. 16.
- Ongoing Simplifier Software Improvements: A pilot “Operations, Enterprise Services, and Facilities (OESF) Help Desk” tool is testing improved tracking of Simplifier questions and could expand to other OESF software if successful.
Upcoming Needed Campus Action Items (Time Sensitive):
Miramar College:
- Performing Arts Center & English/Gallery Project: The design team is awaiting direction from the district on increasing the project scope to the recommended budget option presented to the Executive Project Review Committee on Feb. 27. The schematic design phase start was delayed to Mar. 13 (originally Mar. 2) and will continue to adjust until approval is received.
