Prior Week’s Key Accomplishments:
City College:
- “A” Building Expansion: A Design-Build Entity (DBE) team briefing to the Association of Student Government (ASG) was held on Mar. 25. An Executive Project Review Committee meeting to review the budget increase request was held on Mar. 27.
- Outdoor Athletics: An electrical review meeting was held on Mar. 26.
- Learning Resource Center (LRC) Fluid-Applied Roofing: The project was put out to bid on Mar. 25.
- Security Fence & Swing Gate (“A” Building): Installation began on Mar. 26.
Mesa College:
- Performing Arts Center / Administration & Parking Structure: The district and DBE held a final programming workshop to review revised scope and square footage impacts with stakeholders on Mar. 23. A project coordination meeting to review stormwater permit issues with Kleinfelder (geotechnical) and Badger (potholing) was held on Mar. 25.
- Athletics Complex: The DBE mobilized additional survey teams for the expanded scope area on Mar. 23. A project coordination meeting was held on Mar. 25 to review stormwater permit issues.
- Design Center Improvements: The district met with Lionakis/OBR (architect) on Mar. 24 to review landscape design elements and discuss swing space options.
Miramar College:
- Montgomery Field Aviation Instructional Center: The district met with Lieutenant Stone on Mar. 23 regarding the security and safety of the new design. The DBE held the first Design Development (DD) workshop with stakeholders on Mar. 27.
- Performing Arts Center & English/Gallery Project: The district design team held a program phase presentation and schematic design kickoff meeting with stakeholders and campus leadership on Mar. 23.
- Administration (N) and Business & Math (M) Buildings Tree Trip Hazard Mitigation: A contract was prepared for Power-On Energy to address seven tree-well tripping hazards.
- Science (S6) Building Mechanical Upgrade: The 95% Construction Documents (CD) were received from Shadpour Engineers, and district comments were received on Mar. 24.
College of Continuing Education:
- West City Expansion: An estimate reconciliation meeting with the DBE and Cumming Group was held on Mar. 25.
- CE Mesa Building Envelope: A design meeting was held on Mar. 25.
- Promotional Banner Project: A contractor bid walk was held on Mar. 27.
- Vocational Nurse Simulation Lab Program Planning: A meeting was held with the Dean and HGW Architect on Mar. 24 to discuss program planning.

City College:
- Saville Theatre Replacement: Geotechnical boring activities begin Mar. 30 and will continue through Apr. 3.

Mesa College:
- Performing Arts Center / Administration & Parking Structure: Site investigation will take place Mar. 30–Apr. 2, including geotechnical borings, potholing, sewer and storm drain video, and validation of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP)/Information Technology (IT) pathways, capacities and connections.
- Design Center Improvements: Additional landscape design options will be finalized, and swing space options will be validated.
Miramar College:
- Administration (N) and Business & Math (M) Buildings Tree Trip Hazard Mitigation: Tentative work is scheduled to begin Mar. 30.
- Parking Garage (G3 and G4) Building Overhead Doors: The 95% drawing set is due in early April.

Key Items of Interest:
- Associated Student Government (ASG) Engagement Sessions: DBE partners have been meeting with ASG leadership to provide presentations and answer questions about their respective Design-Build projects. City College had two recently – with Gensler and Rudolph & Sletten talking about the “A” Building Expansion Project, and Roesling Nakamura Terada (RNT) and Sundt presenting on the Saville Theatre Replacement Project. At Miramar College, all three DBEs presented to the ASG on March 27 – Miller Hull and BNBuilders for the Performing Arts Center & English/Gallery Project, CSCA and Harper Construction on the Montgomery Field Aviation Instructional Center Project, and Architects Mosher Drew and Flint Design Build on the Early Education Center Project.
- Miramar College – Small Business Outreach: On Mar. 25, BNBuilders hosted a subcontractor outreach event for the Performing Arts Center & English/Gallery Project, with approximately 45 attendees.
