Prior Week’s Key Accomplishments:

 

City College:

1. Saville Theatre Replacement: A low-voltage systems walkthrough with facilities and the Design-Build Entity (DBE) was held on Apr. 9. A third schematic design focus group meeting was held on Apr. 10.

2. Roof Replacement at Exercise Science (P) Building: A second bid job walk was held on Apr. 10.

 

Mesa College:

1. Performing Arts Center / Administration & Parking Structure: Site investigation was completed, except for one mid-slope geotechnical boring. Tree removal and clearing for the final boring began on Apr. 10.

2. Athletics Complex: The 3D model was provided to the athletics dean on Apr. 6. A tour of the Palomar College Athletics Facility was held on Apr. 9.

3. Design Center Improvements: Feedback on the 50% Construction Documents (CDs) was provided by the facilities team to the design team drawings the week of Apr. 6.

4. Learning Resource Center (LRC) Carpet Install: The second bid job walk was held on Apr. 10.

 

Miramar College:

1. Montgomery Field Aviation Instructional Center: The district met with the City of San Diego on Apr. 6 to discuss the status of the site lease. Following the meeting, the district prepared a memo to outline program needs and determine the path forward. A second design development stakeholder meeting was held on Apr. 10.

2. Performing Arts Center & English/Gallery Project: A second schematic design meeting with the design team and campus stakeholders was held on Apr. 6.

3. Early Education Center: A second schematic design meeting with the design team and campus stakeholders was held on Apr. 8.

4. Trip Hazard Mitigation at Administration (N) and Business and Math (M) Buildings: An acceptance walk was held with the college on Apr. 7.

 

College of Continuing Education:

1. Educational Cultural Complex (ECC) New Facilities & Grounds Building: A building space needs meeting was held on Apr. 7.

2. ECC Theatre: A door hardware meeting was held on Apr. 7.

3. New Site for San Diego College of Continuing Education: Design-Build RFQ/P submittals were received on Apr. 9. A request for a budget increase was submitted to the Executive Project Review Committee on Apr. 10.

4. ECC Community Room: A request for a budget increase was submitted to the Executive Project Review Committee on Apr. 10.

5. CE West City Expansion: A request for a budget increase was submitted to the Executive Project Review Committee on Apr. 10.

6. Promotional Banner Project: Bids were received on Apr. 9.

City College:

1. Outdoor Athletics: A design meeting is scheduled for Apr. 13.

 

Mesa College:

1. Performing Arts Center / Administration & Parking Structure: Schematic design workshops for outdoor programming, administration suite, music, VPA/business services, scene and costume shops, and site/parking are scheduled for Apr. 14–16.

2. Athletics Complex: A schematic design meeting is scheduled for Apr. 17.

3. Design Center Improvements: A coordination meeting is scheduled for Apr. 16 to review final landscape and swing space decisions.

 

Miramar College:

1. Montgomery Field Aviation Instructional Center: A meeting is scheduled for the week of Apr. 13 to discuss program needs and constraints related to the off-site location with the project team, custodial, and facilities staff.

2. Performing Arts Center & English/Gallery: A meeting is scheduled the week of Apr. 13 to discuss alignment with campus standards with the project team, custodial, and facilities staff.

3. Early Education Center: A meeting is scheduled the week of Apr. 13 to discuss alignment with campus standards with the project team, custodial, and facilities staff.

4. Roofing Repairs / Replacements at Business & Math (M), Arts & Humanities (H), and College Police (T1) Building: A bid job walk is scheduled for Apr. 16.

5. Police Academy (A-200) Building Second Floor Remodel: A bid job walk is scheduled for Apr. 15.

6. Science (S-6) Building Upgrade/Refurbishment: A bid job walk is scheduled for Apr. 17.

7. Diesel Tech (C-1) Building – Mechanical RTU Replacement: Shadpour Engineers will continue site investigation for development of the 60% Design Development (DD) package due Apr. 17, with the Division of the State Architect (DSA) submittal anticipated in late June.

 

College of Continuing Education:

1. New Site for San Diego College of Continuing Education: Design-Build proposal review will take place Apr. 13–Apr. 17.

2. ECC Building Trades Training Center: A design meeting is scheduled for Apr. 14. A swing space coordination meeting is scheduled for Apr. 17.

3. CE Mesa Building Envelope: An improvements design meeting is scheduled for Apr. 16. A swing space coordination meeting is scheduled for Apr. 17.

4. ECC Community Room: A meeting to discuss a budget increase with the Executive Project Review Committee is scheduled for Apr. 17.

5. West City Expansion: A meeting to discuss a budget increase with the Executive Project Review Committee is scheduled for Apr. 17.

6. ECC Ceramics: A swing space coordination meeting is scheduled for Apr. 17.
