Prior Week’s Key Accomplishments:
City College:
- Saville Theatre Replacement: A hazardous material site walk with TRC (consultant) was held on Apr. 28, followed by a 50% Schematic Design (SD) review meeting with President Shabazz held on Apr. 29.
- Harry West Gym: A hazardous material site walk with TRC (consultant) was held on Apr. 28.
- “A” Building Expansion: A hazardous materials site walk was held on Apr. 28 with TRC (consultant). A design review meeting was held on Apr. 29, followed by a relocation coordination meeting on Apr. 30 with Bloom Energy Cell, an energy generator provider. An end-of-programming celebration was held on May 1.
- Learning Resource Center (LRC) Fluid Applied Roofing: A Notice to Proceed (NTP) was issued to Preman Roofing.
Mesa College:
- Athletics Complex: An irrigation site investigation walk was held with the Design-Build Entity (DBE) on Apr. 28, followed by a utilities site investigation walk on Apr. 29.
- Performing Arts Center / Administration & Parking Structure: Follow-up site utility investigation meetings were held on Apr. 28 and Apr. 30 with the district and DBE telecommunications consultant McKay Conant Hoover.
- Design Center Improvements: A check for Division of the State Architect (DSA) review fees was requested from the district.
Miramar College:
- Police Academy (A-200) Building Second Floor Remodel: Bids were received on Apr. 27, followed by a post-bid interview with All Source Company, the apparent low bidder, held Apr. 28.
- Early Education Center: The district met with the DBE on Apr. 29 to discuss the proposed planting for the new play yard, with a focus on maintenance and safety.
- Montgomery Field Aviation Instructional Center (AIC): The district met with the custodial team on Apr. 30 to discuss site trash collection and landscaping maintenance.
- Roofing Repairs / Replacements at Business & Math (M), Arts & Humanities (H), and College Police (T1) Buildings: Bids were received on Apr. 30.
College of Continuing Education:
- West City Expansion: A schedule coordination meeting with the DBE was held on Apr. 27.
- CE Miramar Child Development Center Storage: Review comments on the 50% Design Development (DD) drawing set were received on Apr. 29.
- New Site for San Diego College of Continuing Education: Interviews with DBE’s were held on Apr. 30.

- Design Center Improvements: The team will continue coordinating access controls standards requirements with the districtwide standards initiative.
Miramar College:
- Performing Arts Center & English/Gallery: A fourth Design Development (DD) workshop is scheduled for May 4, focusing on the interior design of the building.
- Early Education Center: A fourth DD workshop is scheduled for May 6, focusing on the landscaping, layout, and play yard needs.
- Montgomery Field Aviation Instructional Center: A fourth DD workshop is scheduled for May 8, focusing on furniture needs for the new space.
- Air Handling Unit Upgrades/Refurbishment at Science (S-6) Building: Bids are due May 8.
College of Continuing Education:
- West City Expansion: A plan and scope review and strategy meeting is scheduled for May 6.
- CE Mesa Building Envelope: An improvement stakeholder meeting is scheduled for May 7.
