Prior Week’s Key Accomplishments:

City College:

  1. Hardscape Improvements: Precision Concrete (contractor) addressed resurfacing and grinding work identified during the punch walk on Sept. 25.

Mesa College:

  1. Hardscape Improvements: Concrete removal was completed in identified areas, on Sep. 22.
  2. Performing Arts Center / Administration & Parking Structure: A Design Development (DD) workshop with the Venue and Lobbies group was held on Sep. 22. Student engagement events were held during Club Rush, a campuswide event where student organizations, clubs and athletic teams showcase their activities and connect with students, on Sep. 23 and 24. The 100% Schematic Design (SD) estimate review meeting with the Design-Build Entity (DBE) was held on Sep. 24. The 50% DD page-turn review with the DBE was held on Sep. 25.
  3. Athletics Complex: Student engagement events were held during Club Rush, on Sep. 23 and 24. An SD cost estimate reconciliation between the DBE and district is ongoing. A site logistics and phasing review with campus leadership was held on Sep. 24.
  4. Design Center Improvements: Addenda 3 and Addenda 4 were issued on Sep. 25, providing contractors with additional information on project management requirements and responses to questions about the bid documents.

Miramar College:

  1. Early Education Center: The DBE met with campus facilities during the week of Sept. 21 to discuss finishes.
  2. Aviation Instructional Center: The district reviewed the 50% Construction Document (CD) deliverable during the week of Sep. 21. The DBE hosted a DD page-turn meeting with campus stakeholders on Sep. 22 and developed the “Coming Soon” project sign.
  3. Pool Deck Resurfacing: A preliminary cost estimate, known as a Rough Order of Magnitude (ROM) estimate, was requested on Sep. 22.
  4. Performing Arts Center & English/Gallery Building: The DBE hosted a DD meeting on Sep. 24 focused on the canyon, a central section of the building, and the performance venues.

College of Continuing Education:

  1. Lighting Inverter (Multiple Buildings Across CCE Campuses): Bids were received on Sep. 21.
  2. New Site for SDCCE: Campus Security and Parking and Business Information Technology (BIT) focus group meetings were held on Sep. 23.
  3. Educational Cultural Complex (ECC) New Facilities Building: A meeting with stakeholders was held on Sep. 24.

City College:

  1. Early Education Center (EEC) Shade Structure: A Division of the State Architect (DSA) submittal is scheduled for Oct. 1.

Mesa College:

  1. Design Center Improvements: An additional Request for Information (RFI) response addendum, if necessary, will be issued during the week of Sep. 28.
  2. Athletics Complex: A 50% DD page-turn review meeting is scheduled for Sep. 28. Separate focus group meetings with Aquatics and Gym Striping are also scheduled for Sep. 28.
  3. Performing Arts Center / Administration & Parking Structure: Focus meetings with Dance, Main Theatre, Drama, and Music are scheduled for Sep. 30.

Miramar College:

  1. Early Education Center: The DBE will conduct a page-turn review of the 50% CD deliverable with campus and district facilities during the week of Sep. 28.
  2. Performing Arts Center & English/Gallery Building: The district will review the 50% DD deliverable during the week of Sep. 28.
  3. Lighting Inverters Replacement at buildings Gym (J), Aquatic Center (P-1), Student Resource Center (K-2), Parking Garage (G-3 & G4), Arts & Humanities (H), Administration (N), Science (S-6), and Advanced Transportation (C-2): Bids are due Sep. 30.
  4. Aquatic Center Solar Panel System Upgrade: A site scope planning meeting is scheduled for Oct. 1.
  5. Aviation Instructional Center: The DBE will continue developing the 50% CD deliverable and finalize the new service requirements with SDG&E.

College of Continuing Education:

  1. New Site for SDCCE: A Student Support focus group meeting is scheduled for Sep. 29.
  2. West City Expansion: A stakeholder DD meeting is scheduled for Sep. 30.

  1. Simplifier: New system enhancements were released to streamline user management, financial tracking and data entry, along with improvements to reporting capabilities that make information easier to manage and review.

  1. Microgrid Feasibility Study & Linear Generator: The electrical load recorder was adjusted on Sep. 25 as part of the seven-day recorder relocation.
