About the CSP Program

What is Career Support Pathways?

Career Supprt Pathways (CSP) is supported by the California Department of Rehabilitation and funded by a Disability Innovation Fund grant from the U.S. Department of Education. It aims to transition workers with disabilities from segregated settings to integrated settings, enabling them to earn real wages and work in their communities.

General Information for Prospective Program Participants

Eligibility Requirements

Participants must be 18 years or older with a disability. Those considering or engaged in sub-minimum wage employment, or have previously worked in such employment are also eligible.

Program Schedule and Format


  • Fall 2024 Schedule: Class recommendations and guidance provided by college staff upon acceptance into the program. In-person and hybrid options available. See class schedule for general details: 
  • Transportation Assistance: Public transportation and ride-sharing options are available, with assistance provided by the Department of Rehabilitation.

Application and Program Enrollment

Application Process

  1. Meet with a Department of Rehabilitation counselor or college staff.
  2. Submit a college application through CCCApply (unless already a current San Diego College of Continuing Education student).
  3. Set up your MYSDCCD portal and register for the CSP class (college staff are available to assist).
  4. Apply for SDCCD DSPS Services

Cost and Enrollment

  • The program is free of charge.
  • Enrollment for the Fall 2024 semester begins on July 8th, 2024.
  • The final add date is typically the end of the second week of classes.

Program Services 

Class Size and Offerings

  • Expected class size: 20-25 participants.

Support and Accessibility

  • In-class support from educational coaches and instructional aides.
  • Equitable learning environment for both readers and non-readers.

Work Placement 

Customized Employment and Placement Process

  • Work placement is highly individualized, with support from the CSP Vocational Specialist. 
  • Opportunities for work experience within the college district.
  • Work placement can begin as soon as the participant is ready. 

Post-Placement Support

  • Minimum of 90 days of short-term support after work placement.
  • Ongoing communication with the participant and/or employer.
